Why do we buy CocaCola instead of Pepsi? Why does visa hold over 40% of the credit card market? Why do we feel SO happy at Disney? 

There is nothing more stressful than knowing you have something amazing to bring to the world, but not knowing how to make it sell.

And while we understand that we don't have the budget those big companies have for marketing and ad spend, deep down we also know that there are ways to sell without that big budget. 

Fun Fact #1:

All the brands I mentioned above, use sensory branding to attract their ideal clients and help them fall in love with their brand and product. 

  • CocaCola uses it everywhere - from the shape of their bottle to the “pop of the bottle” sound when it’s opened. Everything is controlled to create an experience.
  • Visa uses it within its payment solutions when a transaction is approved (there’s an animation, sound and even a haptic vibration).
  • Disney uses it in its parks (in many ways) but one of my favorites is how they have smell machines release certain smells spritzed in the air to make your experience go deeper.

Fun Fact #2:

Sensory Branding is not limited to in-person experiences. 

When most people hear about sensory branding, they think of in-person experiences and don’t realize how POWERFUL our brains really are. Has your mouth ever watered watching a food commercial? That was sensory branding through a digital realm. 

Need more proof? Look around the room you are in, pick an object (any object)

Isn’t it interesting how you immediately know what it would feel like to LICK that object? 

Yeah I know, it’s kind of gross. But it definitely proves how sensory branding can be implemented without ever coming in contact with the object.
